The creative Thai restaurant, TAAN is set to captivate the taste buds and hearts of food enthusiasts with ‘Artisans Meet & Greet Dinner’ - an event that promises to be a celebration of culinary craftsmanship, sustainability, and exceptional local ingredients. From the 26th to the 28th of October 2023, TAAN will host an immersive dining experience like no other, featuring four outstanding Thai suppliers who are dedicated to environmentally friendly practices and high-quality ingredients.

TAAN Executive Chef Monthep “Thep” Kamolsilp will be at the helm, welcoming four outstanding suppliers who specialize in chicken and eggs, beef, seafood, and wine.

These suppliers are not just dedicated to quality but are also innovators in sustainable farming techniques. Throughout the three days of this event, these extraordinary suppliers will share their inspiring stories, the exceptional ingredients they provide and the secrets behind their success. Their dedication to responsible sourcing and eco-friendly practices is nothing short of commendable.

But it doesn't stop there. Chef Thep has curated an exclusive 9-course menu that will celebrate these exceptional local ingredients, putting them at the forefront of each dish. His commitment to using 100% local ingredients speaks volumes about his dedication to both the craft and the community.

Pairing with the food, TAAN presents Thai craft wine of GranMonte by the talented duo, Visootha Lohitnavee and Suvisooth Lohitnavy. Their winery, nestled in the scenic vineyards of Khao Yai, holds the distinction of being the sole producer of hot-climate wine in Thailand.

This event is about more than just savoring delicious food; it's an opportunity to connect with the sources of these ingredients and gain a deeper appreciation for the hard work and passion that goes into creating them. TAAN's mission with the Artisans Meet & Greet Dinner is multifaceted, aiming to create a unique experience for food enthusiasts. While, promote access to alternative sources of ingredients, and foster connections between producers and consumers. By exploring the local culinary wisdom of each region, Chef Thep and his team hope to contribute to distributing income within communities, stimulating local economies, and consistently supporting farmers who prioritize sustainable practices.

Now, let's introduce the remarkable artisans themselves.

On October 26th, the spotlight shines on Natthaphon Kangwichai, the driving force behind NK Wagyu Sri Chiang Mai. With over two decades of farming experience, Natthaphon, affectionately known as Na Khaek, has poured his unwavering passion into crafting premium grain-fed Thai Wagyu beef. This exceptional Thai Wagyu beef boasts a unique characteristic with marbled fat woven through the meat like handwoven silk. These cattle are raised for over 2-4 years through a careful crossbreeding process involving indigenous Thai cattle, Brahman cattle, Charolais, and Wagyu. Every step of the journey, from feeding to selling and delivery, is meticulously overseen by Na Khaek himself, ensuring that each cut of their extraordinary Thai Wagyu beef reflects his dedication to craftsmanship and authenticity.

As the sun sets on October 27th, diners will have the pleasure of joining a seafood experience led by Kittipong Wanphikhod, the visionary behind Tapi Seafood. Tapi Seafood's contemporary management techniques and their commitment to the art of preservation guarantee seafood that stands out for its lasting freshness and superior quality, in demand across the nation. They employ unique preservation methods, including the revered "Ikejime Shinkeijime" technique, to ensure the utmost quality and freshness of their offerings. What sets Tapi Seafood apart is their dedication to reducing the cycle of sea life circulation. In a world where many people are still unfamiliar with the intricacies of maintaining the aquatic ecosystem, Tapi Seafood serves as an educational beacon. Their approach to preserving the sea is simple yet profound: catch fewer fish. By doing so, they help preserve the environment without disrupting nature's delicate balance. Tapi Seafood's environmental commitment extends to educating local communities surrounding the picturesque shores of Southern Thailand. This movement not only raises awareness but also instills a deep-seated love for the sea. By enjoying the treasures of the sea at this event, diners are actively contributing to the cause, championing the livelihoods of beloved local fishermen, and supporting a sustainable approach to seafood sourcing.

On October 28th, the spotlight shifts to Tan-Khun Organic Farm, an expert in organic chicken and eggs based in Nakhon Pathom, under the guidance of Amnart Reansoi. Embracing free-range practices, their chickens are given the freedom to roam outdoors, enjoying nature's bounty rather than being confined around the clock. Khun Amnart takes pride in cultivating his own organic rice, ensuring that his chickens savor a completely organic diet. The ethos at Tan-Khun Farm centers on providing their chickens with ample space to roam freely and forging close collaborations with like-minded producers to create natural remedies. This care and dedication not only ensure the highest quality of life for their chickens but also position them as advocates for the health benefits of consuming organic chicken. Nestled in the heart of Nakhon Pathom, their farm aims to inspire sustainable living within their community and beyond.

Perched on the 25th floor of Siam@Siam Design Hotel Bangkok, TAAN welcomes diners with sweeping 180-degree views of the inner city. To one side is the charming Old Town with its low-rise buildings stretching to the Chao Phraya River; to the other, the vibrant Siam neighborhood with its gleaming malls and sport stadiums. This picturesque setting adds the final touch to an already extraordinary culinary experience.
